Condensation: Causes & Cures

Window condensation in a condo can be caused by a variety of factors, the most common factor is high humidity levels inside the condo. When warm, moist air comes into contact with cold window surfaces, it can cause condensation to form on the windows.

Further to this, poor ventilation may be a cause. Should you be experiencing condensation, please ensure that there is nothing blocking the regular flow of air throughout your unit. 

To cure window condensation in a condo, there are several steps that can be taken:

1. Reduce humidity levels: Use a dehumidifier or air conditioner to reduce humidity levels inside the condo. You can also use exhaust fans in bathrooms and kitchens to remove excess moisture.

2. Increase ventilation: Ensure that your condo has adequate ventilation. You can open windows or use exhaust fans to increase the flow of air throughout the condo.

3. Use window coverings: Using curtains, blinds, or other window coverings can help to trap warm air and prevent it from coming into contact with the cold window surface.

4. Check for leaks: If your windows are leaking, this can cause condensation to form on the inside of the glass. Check for leaks and repair them as needed.
