Who is responsible for the utilities while the suite is leased?

The responsibility for utilities in a rental property is usually outlined in the lease agreement between the landlord and the tenant. In general, there are two common methods for handling utility payments in rental properties:

Tenant responsibility: In this arrangement, the tenant is responsible for paying for utilities directly to the utility companies. The lease agreement may specify which utilities the tenant is responsible for paying, and the tenant must set up accounts with the utility companies and pay bills on time. This is the most typical option.

Inclusive rent: In this arrangement, the monthly rent payment includes the cost of utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and trash. The landlord pays for the utilities through their building CEA fees, and the cost is included in the rent amount paid by the tenant.
