It is important to note, as per your lease agreement, that no upgrades or changes can be made to your suite without permission from the landlord.
Please see below for common requests, note that if approved, the cost of the upgrade requested would be on yourself, the tenant.
- Grab Bars or assisted devices – Should you have a medical note please do present to the Home Services Agent
- Removing a capped outlet for a light fixture installation
- Changing the blinds/curtains that come with your suite
- Painting your walls (should this be approved, it will be at the tenants cost to paint back to the original colour, or cover costs of added coats upon move out)
- Changing any finishes or fixtures that come with your suite, such as but not limited to;
- Flooring
- Cabinetry
- Light Fixtures
- Placement of walls, doors, windows
- Placement of electrical fixtures
Common items that are permitted without permission:
- Hanging photos, shelves or televisions – to note, any large holes that require added patching could be billed back to yourself, the tenant, after move out
- Hanging small magnetic, stick-on or removable hooks on any wall or surface
- Any other small, non structural changes of the unit which would be removed upon move-out
